I had to change the journal OTL. But as always I'm lazy and don't have anything to say. I always thought that I'm better at writing than talking, but I guess in both cases my problem is that I don't have any theme to discuss ^^"and maybe that's the reason I draw. I think that a drawing might give people a reason to start a conversation XD.
With that said, I think that it will be a while again until I write another journal X3

Your animations are totally awesome and I've pestered a few people to look at so many of them. lol Sooooooo cool, I couldn't resist. LOL
I'm working on a few projects that feel like they are going well.
Hope you are well.
Thanks a lot
"Trying to figure it out as you go" is the best way to learn though
I do something similar for practice, I take screenshots of anime/cartoons and try to redraw the scene. I did a pretty good one from Disney's Sword in the Stone. It's on my facebook, but I was thinking about uploading it to DA after the amazing comments I got with it's FB posting. LOL Every now and then I do a really good redraw. XD The other times, the character seems to gain 10-15 pounds of weight to their face. But the redraws DO help train my hand and help me figure out things for some of my own drawings/projects. It's good practice, and no tracing allowed. XD
Ah, whenever you can get to my vid(s) is fine. I've also got 2 files in my DA gallery of a gate-gif I'm working on recently. One is of the gate swinging open, and the other is a 9 frame animation testing the rain and lightning flashes. I think THAT one could induce a seizure with as fast as the flash is. lol I don't know for sure, not until someone complains. lol but in seriousness, I doubt it would really do that. XD
*nods* Yep! I agree that trial and error are key to learning. It's just such a hassle when I mess up! LOL It'd be nice if I could draw and even animate people as well as you can. I've got a little web-comic idea that I've had on my mind since the early 1990's, but I'm JUST NOT good enough yet.
Maybe in a couple more years.. *sigh* Scenery, I'm kind of good at though.
In case I don't get the chance this weekend, I hope you have a great one! (not sure if you celebrate Easter, but if you do, have a fun one!
That's a nice practice method 8D but maybe in the Merlin one you should put all the images above one-another so it's easier to read & follow
We do celebrate Easter
With the pics, animations and vids of your's I've seen so far, it's surprising to read. lol Then again, they say the best artists, are their own worst critic.
Thanks, and AH! I never thought about putting the comic panels 1-wide and 8-long. LOL I tend to OVERthink things, hence how I came up with the method I did, of having the panels reveal for 4 seconds in reading order.
I think I will do another version, displayed like you suggested. Thanks!
What did you think of the lineart? I did have printouts of those poses. But I really have trouble sometimes either shrinking or enlarging a pic.
I'm almost done with my swinging gate animation. Just gotta draw it out beyond the last gate-opening movement so that it doesn't stop too abruptly. Looking pretty good so far, the timing of the flashes was annoying. I'm going to try to find some free storm sound effects and mix them with the animated gif file for my art youtube account.
Ah! So Easter is a week later in your region than in the USA? That's interesting! I never would've figured that. XD
So you're going to have TWO Easter celebrations? lol Extra chocolate eggs, right? ~_^
lol I hope you have a "sweet" time. lol
I think the lineart was good. Maybe if you inked it it would look more polished?
Thank you lol. I hope you had a good time too.
Ah, I'm not good at inking.. But maybe I can try inking on a scan/copy of the original sketch? I don't even know what type of ink/pen to use for inking.
I had a pretty good Easter. I hope you did as well!
