And being serious, with given linework and detail, I'd go for smaller size and style merger, i.e. drawn texture with couple variables- that would make background less repetitious and, uh. well, backgroundish! Now, because of phototexture it's tad distracting.

GAP= Gimp animation package? If so, I didn't do it with that. Just the normal Gimp & Blender for the moving pavement X'D. I tried different timing and pattern-cut for that until I got this one... TTvTT I'm not happy with it but was the best I could do. I thought about the background after I drew the character too. So the perspective is like that :'D Maybe, as you say, I could have tried some other pattern for the pavement (and put some kind of texture..hhmm)..
